Background on Discover Docket for journalists, analysts, and industry observers.

Discover Docket is a pre-launch litigation technology platform combining case management, AI-assisted drafting, deposition analysis, and procedural compliance tools into a single platform built specifically for civil litigation. The platform launches publicly in late 2026 with California and Federal procedural support as the day-one tier and all 52 U.S. jurisdictions supported by end of year one.

The platform's distinguishing technology is JILL (Judicial Insights & Legal Logic), the platform's built-in AI, operating under the DDEAS (Discover Docket Ethical and Accountability Standards) framework. DDEAS imposes structural source validation, confidence scoring, cryptographic audit logging, and tamper-evident chain-of-custody requirements on every AI output the platform produces — addressing the failure modes that have produced AI-related professional discipline cases since Mata v. Avianca (2023).

The company was founded by Chris Waters, a California civil litigator with 25 years of practice experience.
